Is your laundry a small area which needs a bit of love and attention? This small stylish laundry renovation is proof it can be updated into a space of functional tranquility!
The laundry has come a long way over the years. It’s become a space to inject some style and functionality in what has been a forgotten room of the house.
While some of us dream of a mud room with plenty of storage and bench space for baskets of clothes, many of us only have a small area to work with.
This was the case with this laundry. Its simple design is one many of us relate to with the top loader washing machine and its exposed water lines and waste connection into a compact stainless steel laundry tub and cabinet.
There is no bench space to be seen and limited storage.
But a simple swap to a front loader washing machine allowed for a new bench. Wall mounted cabinetry and a new cupboard underneath has turned what was just a practical space into a stylish and functional laundry even I’m envy of!
Here are the details of where all the materials came from:
- Cupboards, Hanging Rail and Sink are from IKEA.
- Bench and tap are from Bunnings.
- Washing Machine was from Harvey Norman.
- Aqua tiles are from Traditional Tiles at Sumner Park.
- Decorative items are from Target and Kmart.
Kylie, owner of this new laundry, loves the updated design and says, “The storage I’ve never had is amazing!”
Awesome work to her husband Luke for creating this fab laundry. I’m wondering if I can hire Luke to come and update my laundry too?!
